RHS parents: Tomorrow is the senior awards and recognition assembly. We know in the past that all students receiving academic and athletic awards were recognized during this assembly, however, this will be done differently this year. Only seniors will be recognized tomorrow, May 17. The remaining student body will be recognized next week during Advisory.

Reminder RHS/RMS Parents and Students:
There will be a Parent/Student meeting for Driver's Ed tonight in the RHS Cafeteria @ 6pm. Students must be 14 years old by June 1st to enroll in the class. The form will be filled out tonight. If you can not make the meeting, please call the office or email vfuentes@usd407.org to make arrangements. The fee for the class is a total of $204.00 and must be paid by May 12th.

RHS/RMS students for Driver's Education
Dear Parents:
Driver’s Education is being offered again this year at Russell High School. Mrs. Nicole Betts will be the instructor for the course. The classroom portion will begin June 12th through June 16th from 8am - 3pm with a 1 hour lunch break, and the driving portion will begin on June 16th, and will be completed by July 15th, 2022.
There will be a student/parents meeting with Mrs. Betts April 10th at 6:00 p.m. in the Russell High School Cafeteria. The school nurse will be there to do vision screening. The Driver Education Application form will be filled out at that time. Any medical information, Social Security number, and contact information will be needed at this meeting. You will complete the Driver education Application form at the meeting. There is a four dollar ($4.00) processing fee for the application along with the $200.00 fee for the course payable to Russell High School, for a total of $204.00 which is due by May 12th. There are NO REFUNDS once the class has started.
Students must be 14 years of age or older by June 1st. A student may miss no more than one day during the classroom session. Any day missed will be made up on June 16th. If a student misses a scheduled driving day, he or she will be dropped from the class unless prior approval from the instructor.
The grading scale will be as follows: 90% and above A, 80% and above B, 70% and above C, 60% and above D. 80% mastery must be met in both the classroom and behind the wheel.
Due to student safety and the amount of material, which needs to be covered, inappropriate student conduct will not be tolerated and will result in student dismissal from the Driver Education Program.
Driving time will be set up at the start of the classroom session. A calendar with driving times for each group will be set up by Mrs. Betts. If all goes well, the students will complete this class by July 15th, 2023. RHS - Girls Varsity Softball game scheduled for today vs TMP, has been postponed due to weather. A make up date will be determined later.

A big congratulations to Sydney Kraus and Lauren Franks for being awarded a Hansen Scholarship. Kraus and Franks were selected based on their academic achievement, test scores, and community involvement.
