The basketball goal project in the Amos Morris Gymnasium at Russell Junior-Senior High School is now complete. All six goals were replaced and modified to swing in new directions, improving both functionality and visibility within the gym.
The main goals now swing to the south, ensuring they no longer hang over the volleyball court. The side goals swing to the east and west, keeping them out of the crowd’s line of sight and enhancing the view of the courts for spectators.
This project was made possible through the tremendous support of our community and the Bronco Foundation. Through the Foundation, $68,236.76 was raised and donated to USD 407. The Board of Education approved an additional $14,013.24 to complete the project and purchase new shot clocks.
We are excited to see these new goals in use starting this week with junior high basketball. The high school winter sports season will follow soon, with practices beginning November 17, 2025.
