RUSSELL - At the regular October meeting, USD 407 Board of Education directed Superintendent Shelly Swayne to research and investigate the preschool project extensively for its costs of renovation and sustainability before moving forward. USD 407 has determined it best to wait and be patient with the development of the proposed preschool to focus on current building and district needs.
The preschool is a high priority for the Board of Education, but with the current status of facilities presently serving students at USD 407, it is in the best interest of the district to be thorough and patient in this project. Once determined that costs, timelines, and partnerships with current providers can be most successful, the district will move if budget allows. This time will also be utilized to further investigate grant funding to be used in the development of this project in order to lessen the expenses on the general and capital outlay funding of USD 407.
