Pennies For Tennies

Pennies for Tennies was a program created to provide local students in need at Simpson and Bickerdyke Elementary Schools with tennis shoes. Children involved with raising awareness include Journey Windscheffel, Hadlee Brown, Kinley Stoughton, Rush Brown, Layne Stoughton, Walker Stoughton and Kennedy Brown. The community supported the event by donating $830. Some of the money was used to purchase 40 pairs of tennis shoes which were presented to the Board of Education on Monday, July 8th. The remainder of the funds were set aside to be used later in the year at the disretion of the building principals. President Raeleen Reinhardt and Superintendent Shelly Swayne accepted the donation on behalf of the Board of Education.
