Simpson and Bickerdyke Elementary Schools announce the kick-off of a new and exciting fundraising event. The proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to directly benefit the students’ educational experience at the elementary level.
On Wednesday, April 25, the SES/BES PTO will be conducting its first Race for Education. The purpose will be to raise funds in order to provide increased security at the elementary buildings and for other essential educational needs.
Students will walk or jog around the Russell High School track as many times as possible in a one-hour period. Each student will raise funds by asking sponsors to contribute a tax deductible donation to USD 407.
On March 14, elementary students will be coming home with kick-off information about the Race for Education. Parents are asked to review the packet carefully. Parent participation is essential to the success of this program.
The school’s goal is to raise $10,000. You will enable us to reach this goal by contacting potential sponsors via email, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other social media and asking them to visit the website – www.race4ed.com/sbes – so they can make an online donation to your child. The SES/BES PTO will reach its goal of $10,000, if parents contact an average of ten people for a donation.
