PowerSchool is a student
data information system used by USD #407's administration, teachers,
and clerical staff to monitor students' grades, attendance, contact
information, fees and transactions, and other pertinent student
information. PowerSchool also allows parents and students to
log into the system to check on grades, assignments, attendance,
fee balances, and school schedules. Teachers' eMail addresses
are also provided for easy correspondence with a paticular
teacher concerning student progress.
Students and parents are given a "Username" and
"Password" to enable them to log into PowerSchool from
any computer with Internet access by simply going to http://powerschool.usd407.org/public.
The student login information is different than the parent login
information. Families with more than one child will be issued
separate login information for each child. Students' and parents'
"Usernames" and "Passwords" will remain constant
throughout the students' enrollment in USD #407, unless it becomes
necessary to change the information for security reasons.
Before switching to PowerSchool, the administrators of USD
#407 conducted extensive research on the various student data information systems available, and all were in agreement
that PowerSchool had many advantages over the other programs
that were available. The initial cost to the district to
implement PowerSchool was approximately $40,000; and we thank
US Energy Partners, LLC, our partner in education, for
sharing the implementation costs with us.
