11&12 ACT test – At RHS June 9. Juniors: this is your last chance to test before your senior year!
10-12 Certified Nurse Aid (NCA) course- Classs begins Thursday, July 19 through Thursday, August 16 on the
NCKTC Hays campus. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays from8am-4pm. Clinicals will be at the Good Samaritan Society in Hays. Fro more information see Mr. Zachman. Class is limited to 20 so register ASAP.
9-12 MyCollegeMoney Plan.org – Free Resource to help students succeed in college and beyond. Topics include:
Choosing a college they can afford, surviving financially, how much student debt to take on, how to manage debt after college.
10-13 Barton Community College Summer Classes – College Algebra, Computer Concepts, English Comp 2, Public
Speaking and Intro to Sociology. Enrollment is May 23, 7pm at RHS library. Mini classes on the BCC campus include: Web design, Web Authoring, In Design, iPad & Photoshop. See the Mr. Zachman for details.

9-12 Barton County Community College- Breaking Traditions- Career Exploration Opportunities June 5-6.
This program is for 9th-12th graders. Participants can attend two half days or two full days to experience fields of work such as and Accounting/Business, Agriculture, Athletic Trainer, Automotive, Medical Laboratory Technician. Enroll by May 12 by calling 866-813-2460 or by mail.

9-12 Seward Community College – Health Careers Camp May 31, 9am-3pm. Lunch provided. Cost is $10. Space is
limited to 15 students. Careers areas include: Medical Laboratory Technical, Surgical Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Medical Assistant and Nursing.
8-12 Kiwanis KeyLeader weekend- Rock Springs 4-H Center, Junction City, KS June 1-3. Add $25 if not registered

considering attending college or are new to college. It will help students and parents make wise decisions about choosing a college they can afford, surviving and thriving financially, choosing how much debt to take on and how to manage debt after college.

9-12 Gas Measurement Technician Certificate program at Barton Community College
Interests: electrical and mechanical systems, instrumentation and sensors, work outside and do hands on work. Starting wages: $30,000-$40,000. Experienced employees $60,000-70,000.

Technology Program in Kansas to offer this Associates degree.
9-12 Colby Community College – Program Spotlight: Massage Therapy. Therapeutic massage is among the fastest
growing occupations in the nation. This is a two semester certificate program.
9-12 Garden City Community College – Student Athletic Training Camp, July 23-25. Register by July 5. Camp will
focus on various injuries, taping and treatment as well as a cadaver dissection.
Scholarships are also available to student athletic trainers for the 2012-13 school year.

12 Kansas State University’s Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity sponsors the Balanced Man Scholarships ($500-

12 Pratt Community College – Electrical Power Technology Mini Boot Camp, Saturday, May 12. Purpose: To
give those interested in being a lineman a day to experience some of the tasks of the job.
9-12 Seward Community College – NEW PROGRAM- Sustainable Agriculture Resource Program in the Agriculture
Department.
9-12 Washburn University – Pre-Law Day – July 16-19. Learn how to get into law school, improve public

- Hagan Scholarship- For high achieving Class of 2013 seniors in need of financial assistance to attend college.
