A Little About Russell High School's Rotary Interact Club

Posted Date: 03/30/2017

Russell High School’s Rotary Interact is an organization dedicated to service and civic projects to make the community a better place. Hopefully one day these members will become future Rotarians who will work on projects to make the world a better place.

They are currently sponsored by Kendra Trueblood, Gloria Homeier, Tia Blehm-Homeier and Julie Counts. The 3 years prior to this school year (2016-17) were sponsored by Mark Popp who first started the Interact club.

Rotary Interact club participates in many activities such as:

  • Putting the flags up on Memorial Day, Independence Day, Flag Day, Labor Day and Veterans Day
  • Volunteer at the Dream Theater in groups of 2 or 3
  • Help put up Christmas decorations along Main Street
  • Hand out phonebooks in Osborne (one of our newer projects)
  • Occasionally help out with Santa’s Workshop and the Food Pantry
  • Participate in the city-wide clean up
  • Volunteer to help in different events in the community
  • Have fundraisers in order to raise money to go on trips to help out in other communties and even other countries such as Hade or Guatemala.
