RIDGLEY AND BRETZ BECOME QUEEN AND KING
F
or the Cougars, homecoming an annual and fun week for all. The cheerleaders pick out dress up themes each day and they are in charge of decorating the royalty float. Theme` days were hat day, come as you are day, jersey day, dress up day, and blue day.

The bonfire was also a memorable moment. Seniors Lukas Bretz and Jonathan Ulrich marched out with torches and set the ChaseKat mascot on fire atop of a bonfire of wood scraps. The night included the pep band playing the school song and the cheerleaders leading chants. King and queen candidates were also blindfolded and told they had to use their face to go through a plate of pudding to find the hidden M&M’s inside. Little did they know they were eating the pudding out of a baby’s diaper, a clean one of course!

Friday, before the game, was the homecoming ceremony. The senior candidates for king were Jonathan Ulrich, Scott Wilson, Catlin Webber, and Lukas Bretz. The queen candidates were Erica Palmer, C.J. Ridgley, Ashton Archer, and Samantha Schneider.
The winners of king and queen were announced by Jenna Ulrich (10) as Lukas Bretz and C.J. Ridgley. They shared a kiss and watched the game with the other candidates on the float.

Following the ceremonies, Cougars played the Chase Kats and walked away with a victory.

“The best part of the night was the fact that the DJ let us play our own CD’s. That way we got to pick the songs we wanted to listen to,” said Samantha Schneider. Student Council members were in charge of the DJ, decorations, and they provided pop and Subway sandwiches during the dance.
