I began teaching at Ruppenthal Middle School in the fall of 2001. I taught 6th grade ELA for 6 years and then moved to 8th grade where I currently teach ELA and MTSS.
I began my teaching career in Scott City, Kansas where I taught kindergarten, transitional first grade, and second grade.
I am married and my husband is Gaylon Walter, RMS principal and USD #407 transportation director. We have 4 children and 4 grandchildren.Our oldest son is a school psychologist, and his wife, Dru is a special education teacher. They reside in Wichita, Kansas and have 2 sons and a daughter, Thomas, Theodor and Caroline. Our daughter Britney is a music educator in the Smoky Valley school district and her husband Alan is a professor at Bethany College. They have 1 son, Luke. Our daughter Bailee and her husband Connor, own and operate a landscaping company in Wichita, Kansas. Our youngest son Brennan is attending graduate school at KU Med, studying to be an audiologist.
I enjoy spending time with family, traveling, antiquing, and reading.
