I am a 1971 graduate of Lucas High School in Lucas, Kansas.
I continued my education at Fort Hays State University, completing my Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics in May of 1975, while also completing 40+ hours in the sciences.

I have been a staff member of Russell High School since the fall of 1985, though I have been with the district since 1982, teaching for 3 years at the Lucas site. During these 34 years, I have taught general and applied mathematics, algebra I, geometry, algebra II, trigonometry, senior math (pre-calc), biology, general science, applied biology and chemistry, chemistry, and phyics. My current assignment includes the teaching of chemistry, physics, and AP calculus. The 2015-2016 school year will be my 37th year in public education.
Prior to coming to USD 407, I taught for 3 years at the Beloit Jr/Sr High School in Beloit, Kansas. During my tenure there, I taught 7th and 8th grade mathematics, and assisted with the coaching of junior high football, basketball, and track serving as a coach during the inauguration of girls' junior high basketball.
My family includes my wife of 35 years, 3 children, one son and one daughter, and one step-daughter. All of my children are married and my wife and I are blessed with 5 grandchildren, the eldest married and the youngest still in diapers. My son and daughter are both graduates of RHS and Kansas State University with degrees in Construction Science and Kinesiology respectively. My daughter received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Wichita State University and currently serves our nation's heroes, working with the VA.
