I graduated from Russell High School in 1995. I graduated from Fort Hays State University (FHSU) in 2008 with my elementary education degree.
Currently, I hold an elementary education degree with a Master's degree in ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages). I will begin work towards obtaining my doctorate in Jaunary 2017. I have attended various Kagan workshops.
Currently, I teach fifth grade at Bickerdyke Elementary. Previously, I taught fifth grade for three years (2008-2011) at Bickerdyke. I moved to first grade for three years (2011-2015) and worked at Simpson Elementary School. I have been with USD 407 for seven years. I also coach high school volleyball.
Before teaching, I was a stay-at-home mom and ran a daycare for five years.
My husband, Justin, and I have been married 20 years and we have three children. Zachary (Zach) is a freshman attending NWKTC and is interested in computer game design. Seth is a senior at RHS, plays all sports, and works at Cook's Home and Auto. Isabella (Izzy) is a sophomore at RHS, plays volleyball and babysits. I have two dogs, Bear (a Boston Terrier) and Marley (a lab).
In my spare time (YAH right!), I enjoy watching Chiefs football and Jayhawks baskteball. I also love to read.
